The President
The EEC was founded in 2004 by April D. Murdaugh as a ministry to educate her church family in the areas of Biblical Stewardship. It was then that she discovered the financial plight of the community. No stranger to financial problems herself, she concluded as with anything, that education is the key to unlocking obstacles. In her search, she found that there were only a few organizations committed to educating its residents in proper financial management. It was then that she realized that it was her responsibility to share with her community money management principles that could change their situation for the better.
April is a single parent of three wonderful children. She is a graduate of St. Johns University in New York, with undergraduate degrees in Paralegal Studies and Social Science. She also has a Master's degree in Management Science. April is a devout Christian, committed to seeing Americans of all walks of life become financially independent.
April is a member of the National Association of Economic Educators, FL Jump Start Coalition, the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, and the Professional Women's Council.
